Frequently Asked questions
Wheatgrass is part of the cereal grass family. When juiced, it is a powerful gluten-free green super nutrient and is considered a “living food”. Wheatgrass juice contains most minerals known to man, including powerful antioxidants, live enzymes, phytonutrients, chlorophyll, and vitamins A, B-complex, C, E, and K. It is extremely rich in protein, and contains 17 amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Wheatgrass is also a powerful detoxifier, especially of the liver and blood. It helps neutralize and cleanse the body of heavy metals, toxins and environmental pollutants that may be stored in the tissues and organs. Wheatgrass offers a very high content of chlorophyll, which is an oxygen carrying plant compound similar to the oxygen-carrying molecule hemoglobin in our bloodstream. Our wheatgrass juice is grown from 100% certified organic wheat berries. Our product is considered to be raw, vegan and non-GMO.
Hydroponics is water working with the seed and light in a controlled environment to produce a high-quality natural product. With this technique, we can harvest and utilize all of the plant’s nutritional properties. In this type of controlled environment, it prevents the introduction of unwanted impurities into the grass. Our hydroponics system permits us to grow 365 days a year without the constraints that inhibit conventional outdoor production, helping to avoid mold, bacteria, and fertilizer contamination. Most importantly, our customers are ensured a clean, consistent, and pure product!
Juicing the roots is an advantage to our process. The root and leaves contain different yet wonderful nutrients that work synergistically to form balanced nutrition to your body. Wheatgrass is high in nutrition, enzymes, and active elements. Both the root and leaf ingredients are needed to maximize the body’s use of these nutrients. Since we juice the seed, roots and the leaf our product is considered a spout, densely packed with high enzyme content. What sets us apart, including the roots gives our wheatgrass juice a naturally sweeter taste!
Wheatgrass juice is best taken in the morning, undiluted and on an empty stomach so the nutrients can be absorbed more efficiently and give you the raw energy you need to start your day! Novices may wish to try only one shot in the morning and add an afternoon shot 1-2 hours before dinner.
Our product is shipped in a fresh and frozen 30-pack, which is a one month supply. We recommend to thaw the wheatgrass before use and taking 1 ounce of wheatgrass daily to start with. Most consumers tend to start with the 1 ounce shot in the morning and then increase their consumption over time as they experience the benefits. A second or third shot can be taken anytime during the day, however, it is recommended not to take too close to bedtime as wheatgrass is a natural stimulant.
We have local distributors that can order and delivery our product for right to your door! However, you can also place orders on our website wheatgrassusa.org.
If ordering directly from our website, Wheatgrass USA ships out on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and strives for 2 day shipments so the orders arrive by Fridays, as all products are shipped frozen. We also offer next day delivery when placing an order from one of our distributors in your area.
Most of our customers report that our wheatgrass has a naturally sweet taste and are able to take it on an empty stomach. If for some reason, someone has a more sensitive palette, we recommend adding the 1 ounce wheatgrass shot to freshly prepared cold-pressed juice.
Our wheatgrass juice is grown hydroponically, then juiced fresh once matured and immediately frozen to preserve its nutritional value. It is therefore shipped to our customers frozen in our 30-pack, as a 1 month supply and needs to be stored in the freezer to ensure its freshness.
Large consumptions of Wheatgrass may cause detox symptoms. Please be aware that wheatgrass juice can cause nausea and headaches for some consumers. These are typical and temporary detoxification side effects that commonly precede the health benefits.
Wheatgrass is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that liberates toxins quickly throughout the cells, tissues, and bloodstream, sending these to the skin, lungs, kidneys and liver for elimination through sweat, breathing, urine, and feces.
While wheatgrass allergies are rare, anyone experiencing allergic symptoms or other serious adverse health events should seek attention from a licensed health care professional.
